Craig Morgan Honors Veterans With Special Performance
On Friday, November 8, Craig Morgan performed his hit song “That’s What I Love About Sunday” as a tribute to those who have served our country during PBS’s Salute to Service 2024: A Veteran’s Day Celebration special.
The event was hosted by four-time Grammy nominee Mickey Guyton and included performances by artists like Christian McBride, Aubrey Logan, and, of course, Craig Morgan. The night also shared personal stories from veterans who have served in the military.

Released in November 2004, “That’s What I Love About Sunday” was the lead single from Craig Morgan’s album My Kind of Livin’. Early in 2005, it reached number one on the Billboard U.S. charts, where it held a four-week run at the top.
Morgan’s performance was particularly meaningful during the Veteran’s Day special because he was joined by the U.S. Army Field Band’s Six-String Soldiers, a group of Army members known for their bluegrass and country song covers.
About Craig Morgan’s Military Service
Before his country music career took off, Craig Morgan served on active duty in the U.S. Army for nine and a half years as a member of the 101st and 82nd Airborne Divisions. He later spent another six and a half years in the Army Reserves.
In 2023, at the age of 58, Craig Morgan was sworn back into the U.S. Army Reserve, this time on the Grand Ole Opry stage.
âIâm excited to once again serve my country and be all I can be in hopes of encouraging others to be a part of something greater than ourselves,” Morgan wrote on social media shortly after being reenlisted. “Thank you to the Opry, the US Army Recruiting Command and everyone who helped make last Saturday night so special.”
