Cody Johnson Covers The Chicks’ “Travelin’ Soldier”

For years, Cody Johnson has released a series of acoustic videos on his YouTube channel. He not only performs his own hits, he also performs covers of some classic country songs.

One of his first acoustic covers was a rendition of George Strait’s “You Look So Good In Love” in 2016. Over the years, the video has garnered over nine million views.

He’s covered Lynyrd Skynyrd, Reba McEntire, Brooks & Dunn, Gary Stewart, and more, adding up to over 50 million views.

But his most-viewed cover is “Travelin’ Soldier,” first recorded by Bruce Robinson in 1996. The Chicks popularized it in 2001 when they released it as a single. Their version went No. 1 on the charts and is certified Platinum by the RIAA.

In 2022, Johnson released an acoustic cover of the emotional song, and it’s become one of his most viewed videos, not just covers, but of all the videos on his YouTube channel. The only video that has more views on his YouTube is the official music video for his hit song “‘Til You Can’t,” which has over 134 million views.
