ACM Awards: Brooks & Dunn and Cody Johnson Team Up For “Red Dirt Road”

Brooks & Dunn Joined Cody Johnson On Stage At The 60th Annual ACM Awards
The 33-time ACM Award winners attended the 60th Annual ACM Awards not only because they were nominated for Duo of the Year, but also because they performed alongside Entertainer of the Year nominee Cody Johnson.

Prior to their collaboration, the “Dirt Cheap” singer performed
They took the stage at The Star in Frisco, Texas and immediately brought us back to the 90s while performing “Red Dirt Road.”
Brooks & Dunn released the song on April 21, 2003 and reached the number one spot on the country chart shortly after. The song performed so well on the charts, it was number five on the year-end chart.
Brooks & Dunn and Cody Johnson Have Collaborated A Few Times
In 2019, the legendary country duo released an album titled Reboot, where they re-recorded some of their iconic hits with some big stars.

Johnson joined Brooks & Dunn on “Red Dirt Road,” which is widely considered by fans as one of the best on the album. The trio performed it at CMT Crossroads that year.
A few years later, Brooks & Dunn joined Cody Johnson on “Long Live Country Music,” off his 2023 album Leather.
Before This Performance, Cody Johnson Won His First ACM Award
After being nominated 17 times, Johnson won the ACM Award for Song of the Year for his incredible song “Dirt Cheap.”

It’s clear the ACMs are giving the fans what they want: real country music.
