Billy Ray Cyrus Marries Firerose In “Ethereal Celebration Of Love”

Congratulations are in order for country star Billy Ray Cyrus and Australian singer Firerose! The couple wed on Tuesday, October 10, after a year-long engagement.
Billy Ray Cyrus and Firerose, whose birth name is Johanna Rosie Hodges, shared the news on social media with a post that read, “10/10/23 will always be the beautiful, joyous day that our two souls united as one in holy matrimony. It was the most perfect, ethereal celebration of love we could have ever imagined.”

The marriage comes after the “Achy Breaky Heart” singer’s 2022 divorce from his wife of 28 years, Tish Cyrus. Billy, 62, first met Firerose, 35, on the set of Hannah Montana, the new bride revealed on Live With Kelly and Ryan in 2021.
“We actually met ten years ago on the set of Hannah Montana,” Firerose said. “Billy Ray’s been a phenomenal supporter of my music ever since. He’s just really believed in me and continued to tell me to pursue my dreams no matter what and never give up. The music industry’s not easy, but he’s been just a really, really incredible support.”
The couple reconnected after Billy Ray’s marriage to Tish was falling apart, and made their relationship official shortly after the divorce was finalized. In 2021, Billy Ray and Firerose released their first song together called “New Day.”
More collaborations followed, including “Time” and, their latest release, “Plans.” Written by prolific songwriter Diane Warren (“Because You Loved Me,” “How Do I Live” and “I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing”), “Plans” appeared to be a foreshadowing of the wedding between Billy Ray and Firerose. The music video for the song showed the couple performing in wedding attire and singing about finding their soulmate.
In October 2022, Firerose was photographed wearing a large diamond on her ring finger and Cyrus’s publicist, Scott Adkins, confirmed that the pair got engaged in August 2022.
Most recently Firerose and Billy Ray appeared and performed together at the 2023 ACM Honors where they, along with Travis Denning, paid tribute to the late Charlie Daniels with a performance of his hit “Long-Haired Country Boy.” Watch their performance below.
