Meet Zach Top, the rising county star with a classic country sound

26-year-old Zach Top is quickly finding his way into the hearts, and the speakers, of country music fans. After his musical start in Bluegrass, Top leaned into country music after becoming the first artist to sign with independent record label Leo33 in 2023. His debut single, “Sounds Like The Radio,” was released at the beginning of this year and made it into the top 30 on the Billboard US Country Airplay chart.

The Washington native released his debut album, Cold Beer & Country Music, in April 2024. From his starched Wrangler jeans to his well-kept mustache, Top embodies an old country style in a way that is appealing to younger listeners.

In addition to performing his own original music, Top often shares covers of classic country songs, paying homage to the great artists that have come before him.

Zach Top covers “Two Dozen Roses” by Shenandoah

“Two Dozen Roses” was released by beloved country group Shenandoah in 1989 as the fourth single from their album The Road Not Taken. The single topped both the US and Canadian country charts and sold more than one million units, earning platinum certification from the RIAA.

At Watershed Festival in George, Washington, Zach Top tried his hand at the classic tune during an intimate pre-show acoustic set. His vocals shined with just his guitar and a microphone, and one lucky fan captured it on video – watch it below!
