The CMAs Made A Huge Announcement On Monday (Nov 10)
The 59th Annual CMA Awards will take place on Wednesday, November 19th at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee. This year’s show will be hosted by Lainey Wilson!
The CMA Award nomination came out several weeks ago, and they recently announced the first round of performers which include Lainey Wilson, Luke Combs, Shaboozey, Stephen Wilson Jr, and more.

Just a few days later, the Country Music Association revealed one more award to be handed out: the Willie Nelson Lifetime Achievement Award.
Vince Gill Set To Receive Willie Nelson Lifetime Achievement Award
The Willie Nelson Lifetime Achievement Award is so prestigious that it is not given out every year at the CMA Awards. In fact, there have only been nine recipients.
At the 2025 awards show, Vince Gill will become the tenth.
Speaking about why the CMA chose Gill, CMA Chief Executive Officer Sarah Trahern said, “Vince embodies the very best of what Country Music stands for. He’s a true trailblazer, one who gives back to the community, honors the roots of our genre, and even now, continues to share his talent with fans across the globe. As a Country Music Hall of Fame member, 18-time CMA Award winner, and former 12-time CMA Awards host, he remains a vibrant force in our industry, and we’re honored to celebrate an artist whose influence is so deeply woven into the fabric of our format.”
According to a press release about the announcement, the Willie Nelson Lifetime Achievement Award “is awarded to an iconic artist who has attained the highest degree of recognition in Country Music. The award recognizes those who have achieved both national and international prominence and stature through concert performances, humanitarian efforts, philanthropy, streaming numbers, record sales, and public representation at the highest level. The artist receiving this award has positively impacted and contributed to the growth of the genre over the course of many years and has proven to have an unprecedented historical impact on fans and industry alike.”
Only nine people have been honored with this incredible award, the latest being George Strait in 2024. Past recipients include Willie Nelson, Kris Kristofferson, Johnny Cash, and more.
