After facing these significant difficulties due to his battle with stomach cancer, Keith was forced to take a substantial hiatus from his country music career.

After dedicating two years to his recovery journey, Keith made a triumphant return to the stage with three sold-out performances at Park MGM’s Dolby Live in Las Vegas earlier this month. He performed some of his biggest hits, including “Don’t Let The Old Man In.”

As he redirects his focus to his musical endeavors, it becomes evident that the 62-year-old artist’s battle has instilled a fresh perspective into his life.

As the second Christmas following his diagnosis approaches, he reflects on the initial days of grappling with cancer, unsure if he would even survive a few weeks.

“Two years ago when I was diagnosed, we’d just lost a guy. There was a guy that said he’d been feeling weird, and we were playing golf with him and he went in and they said, ‘You got two weeks to live,’ and he went away,” Keith recalled.

Just a month later, he was diagnosed, leaving “what just happened to that guy” the only thing on his mind.

However, in a recent positive update, he shared, “I think I’m turning a corner” and is hopeful for a brighter future.

Though he hasn’t disclosed the specific details of his treatment progress, we were happy to learn that he’s experiencing an improvement! Take a listen to his recent interview with Audacy’s Katie & Company below.
