“Delta Dawn” singer Tanya Tucker underwent emergency surgery Thursday (July 15) forcing the singer to cancel the remainder of her July concerts.

Representatives for Tucker issued a statement about the surgery and detailed the singer’s injuries, saying:

“It is with regret that we have to cancel all shows for the remainder of July as Tanya has been admitted to the hospital today for an emergency hip replacement surgery as an MRI has revealed a hip fracture that requires immediate attention. We truly appreciate you.”

The 62-year-old singer updated fans following surgery Thursday evening with a statement posted to social media that read,

“Hey Loves, My hip has been giving me hell for awhile now & the docs discovered a hip fracture,” Tucker wrote. “I had to have surgery right away. The operation went well & I’m on track for a speedy recovery. I’ll be at home healing for a few weeks… I LOVE y’all & a bad hip can’t keep me down!”

Tucker was scheduled to perform at Big Top Chautauqua in Bayfield, WI, on Saturday (July 17). The festival was the first to share the news of the singer’s surgery on their Facebook page.

“It is with a heavy heart we announce Tanya Tucker’s show for this Saturday, July 17, 2021 has been cancelled,” the statement read. “Tanya has been admitted to the hospital today for an emergency hip replacement surgery as an MRI has revealed a hip fracture that requires immediate attention. We are in the process of working with her team to reschedule the performance for a later date.”
