State Officials Consider Turning Dollywood Into Mass Vaccine Site

In Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, county and state health department officials are considering Dollywood as a potential mass COVID-19 vaccination location.
A spokesperson from Mayor Larry Waters’ office revealed that they had proposed options to use the famous theme park as property to the state.

“Sevier County officials have had discussions with state and Dollywood officials regarding using Dollywood as a mass vaccination site. We have presented the state with options for the use of Dollywood and are awaiting their response,” Sevier County official, Perrin Anderson, said in a statement obtained by WVLT 8 News.
Numbers released on Tuesday show that Sevier Country confirmed 33 new cases with 644 active cases in total. Sevier County has seen 128 deaths from COVID-19.

“We want to help in any way we can, but we still are in the discussion phase. When any details become available, the Health Department and State of Tennessee will share them officially,” Dollywood Spokesperson, Wes Ramey, told WVLT.
Sevier County Health Department is currently giving out vaccines on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at select times by appointment only.
