In 1990, Reba McEntire stepped away from the stage to act for the very first time.

She was cast in the film Tremors alongside Kevin Bacon, Fred Ward, Finn Carter, and Michael Gross.

Tremors is a thrilling science fiction-horror comedy directed by Ron Underwood.

Set in the remote town of Perfection, Nevada, the story follows handyman Valentine McKee (Kevin Bacon) and his friend Earl Bassett (Fred Ward). The town experiences bizarre and deadly seismic activity, with underground creatures known as Graboids attacking and devouring residents.

As the townspeople struggle to survive, Valentine and Earl team up with geologist Rhonda LeBeck (Finn Carter) to outsmart the intelligent Graboids. The group battles the subterranean monsters, leading to a suspenseful and often humorous fight for survival. McEntire and Gross play married couple Heather and Burt Gummer, respectively. Burt is a conspiracy theorist and prepper. Heather is also a prepper and is as good with weapons as her husband, but she’s more calm and rational than he is.

Tremors combines elements of horror, humor, and suspense, earning acclaim for its inventive creature design, witty dialogue, and the chemistry between the lead characters. The film has since achieved cult status, spawning several sequels and a television series. “Tremors” remains a beloved classic in the monster movie genre, celebrated for its blend of thrills and laughs.

In a behind-the-scenes clip, Reba McEntire talked about her first experience on a movie set.

“This is my first time in the actual movie business,” she says in the clip. “And it’s been quite an experience, I’ve really enjoyed it.”

McEntire recounted the first scene she filmed, where she had one line. When she delivered it, the director said, “That’s a take,” and she recreated her reaction, which included screaming and jumping up and down.

“I went, ‘Yeah! I did it! I did it! I did it!’ And I was just screaming my head off and was, ‘That was my first take! I’m in the movies now!”

The singer recalls that everyone was giving her funny looks, and thought she had lost her mind!

It’s obvious that her movie debut was not a one-off.

She has appeared in ten films and countless television shows, whether it be voice acting, making cameos, guest starring, or being the star. Her most notable acting credit is her self-titled sitcom, Reba, that ran from 2001-2007.
