Earlier This Month, Country Legend Mark Chesnutt Was Rushed To The Hospital
Mark Chesnutt was scheduled to open for ALABAMA at their tour stop in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, on Thursday, October 16, when he experienced a medical emergency before he could arrive.
According to Fox News Digital, a representative for Chesnutt confirmed that he was taken to Baton Rouge Hospital, where doctors ran tests after finding that he had a low sodium count and very high blood pressure.
Because of this, the “Brother Jukebox” singer was unable to make it to his Thursday night show. He also had to cancel his scheduled appearance for that Saturday in New Mexico.
Chesnutt was released from the hospital the following Sunday. However, after that, he ended up rescheduling more of his upcoming shows.
Concerts that were planned for Clarksburg, WV, Princeton, WV, and New Philadelphia, OH, this month have been moved to new dates in April 2026.
He’s Dealt With Multiple Health Issues In The Past
Fans know that over the years, Chesnutt has faced several health challenges.
In 2024, he had to undergo emergency quadruple bypass heart surgery, which forced him to cancel two months of shows while he recovered.
He also had back surgery in 2021 after years of pain from a fracture left him almost unable to walk.
