“Little House On The Prairie” Star Melissa Gilbert Celebrates Birth Of First Grandchild

Melissa Gilbert is an actress, director, producer, politician, mother, and now…a grandma!
The Little House on the Prairie star has two sons: Dakota Brinkman and Michael Boxleitner. She shares Dakota with her ex-husband, actor Bo Brinkman, and shares Michael with her second ex-husband, actor Bruce Boxleitner.
Both Dakota and Michael followed in their parents’ footsteps and became actors themselves. And now, Dakota has started a family of his own!
Dakota and his wife, Marissa, welcomed a baby girl on June 8. They named her Ripley Lou Brinkman.
Marissa posted a few pictures of Ripley on Instagram. The last photo in the slideshow shows Dakota watching Ripley sleep with a look of absolute adoration on his face.

Grandma Melissa shared the same photos of her granddaughter plus one more. She said she is “so so happy” to share that she is now “Nana… to this sweet angel.”
“Everyone is healthy and doing well,” Melissa said. “So proud of my son Dakota and his wife @martobes . She was a warrior through the whole process, and he was the perfect partner to her.”
Melissa wrote that she and her husband, actor Timothy Busfield, are planning to travel to Texas so they can meet their new granddaughter.
