According to 11Alive, the singer and father of five was never buried following his death. Despite speculation that Rogers was laid to rest in Sandy Springs, the star will be buried in a historic Atlanta cemetery. The Oakland Cemetery’s sexton confirmed that the Rogers family purchased a plot. While there are no open burial plots for sale on the property, local families occasionally put a plot up for sale.

Oakland Cemetery was founded in 1850 and is the final resting place for public figures, including Margaret Mitchell, Bobby Jones, governors, and many others.

Rogers had an incredible career and produced iconic hits such as “Islands In The Stream,” “Lady,” and “Lucille.” The singer was also a photographer, author, and businessman.
