Kenny Chesney had a concert in Detroit in 2016. He decided to surprise the crowd by bringing out an unnanounced guest for a duet…Kid Rock!
The audience was thrilled when Rock joined Chesney to sing his song”Cowboy.” But the pair didn’t stop after that. They kept the party going by singing another song.
This time, Chesney and Rock opted to sing a country classic called “You Never Even Called Me by My Name.” Y’all know the song as David Allan Coe‘s signature hit from 1975.
The crowd was loving the performance, to say the least. Many could be heard singing along as Rock and Chesney belted out the lyrics. You can feel the energy in the audience just by watching a video of Rock and Chesney’s performance.
It isn’t hard to understand why the audience was so ecstatic. It must have been a ton of fun to watch two of their favorite singers perform a classic outlaw country song.
