Joe Diffie’s Widow Shares Their Last Photo Together

The country music community is reeling following the unexpected death of ’90s hitmaker Joe Diffie. Diffie passed away Sunday (March 29), two days after revealing that he had been diagnosed with coronavirus.

“I am under the care of medical professionals and currently receiving treatment after testing positive for coronavirus (COVID-19). My family and I are asking for privacy at this time. We want to remind the public and all my fans to be vigilant, cautious and careful during this pandemic,” Diffie wrote following his diagnosis on Friday, March 27, 2020.

Two days later, his wife Tara shared the news of his passing on his social media pages, saying: “It’s with a sad heart that i have to post this. Tara”

Joe Diffie married Tara Terpening in May of 2018. The two appeared on the Bobby Bones show in April of 2019 where Tara showed off her Joe Diffie mullet tattoo and the couple talked about their relationship.

When asked what it was like to be married to Joe Diffie, Tara responded with a smile, “It’s magical….it’s magical.”

Tara admitted that she grew up listening to her husband’s music and shared that her favorite song of his is “Better Off Gone,” a cut from Joe’s 1999 album, A Night To Remember.

It was obvious during their appearance on the Bobby Bones Show that the two were very much in love. When Bobby Bones asked Tara what the best part of being married to Joe Diffie is, she responded, “He honestly, he loves me more than anybody in the world.” She added that her hubby also has a talent that few people know about….he is an excellent chef and cooked dinner for her every night.

Following Joe’s untimely death, Tara shared a photo with his fans…it was the last photo they took together. “Our last picture together. I love you so much @officialjoediffie You were the love of my life,” Tara wrote.
