Luke Bryan Bonds With Country Idol Contestant Colin Stough
From the start of American Idol‘s 21st season, Luke Bryan made it clear he was a huge fan of country singer Colin Stough. He served as one of his biggest cheerleaders throughout the competition, and was thrilled when he made it to the finale.
“You’re like becoming my little science experiment,” Bryan told Stough at one point. “Because I know every emotion going on in your head, cause I grew up very similar to the way you have.”

After growing so close, it only made sense for Bryan and Stough to sing together during the Idol finale…and it only made sense for them to sing a country song!
The track Bryan and Stough performed was Conway Twitty’s “Slow Hand.”
The Pointer Sisters were the first to record “Slow Hand,” and their rendition was released in 1981. Twitty followed with his cover in 1982. His sultry version of “Slow Hand” was a #1 hit on the Hot Country Songs chart. It held on to that top spot for a total of two weeks.
Additionally, Twitty’s “Slow Hand” reached the sixth spot on the country chart in Canada.

When they sang “Slow Hand,” Bryan and Stough started off taking turns singing solo. Stough went first, before Bryan followed with his own solo performance.
The two of them finally sang together toward the end of the song. That moment was country as could be!
Everyone watching in the audience seemed to be loving every second of Bryan and Stough’s performance. They could be seen dancing along to the music the entire time.
