HARDY Officially Releases Joe Diffie Tributes With Morgan Wallen & Post Malone

You can now re-live the CMA Awards’ Joe Diffie tribute anytime you want, because HARDY officially released them!
On Wednesday night (Nov. 8), the unlikely trio of HARDY, Post Malone, and Morgan Wallen shared the stage at the CMA Awards. This year’s show was filled with nostalgia as there were tributes to The Judds, Tanya Tucker, the late Jimmy Buffett, and Joe Diffie.

Wynonna Judd even made a surprise appearance during the show opening to sing “Need A Favor” with Jelly Roll.
While there were countless incredible performances, including ones from Ashley McBryde, Carly Pearce and Chris Stapleton, and many more, one in particular really stood out to some fans!
As Morgan Wallen and HARDY graced the CMA stage, the crowd erupted in excitement as the familiar opening notes of “John Deere Green” filled the air, confirming earlier hints from host Luke Bryan that the performance would pay homage to the late, legendary Joe Diffie. Before long, Post Malone joined the duo of country stars on stage for a rowdy rendition of “Pickup Man.”

Parker also revealed that the songs about to be performed would be included on the third installment of HARDY’s Hixtape collection. HARDY and Wallen kicked off the tribute with “John Deere Green” and they brought out Post Malone for “Pickup Man.”
Moments after the performance, the official artwork for Hixtape Vol. 3: Difftape was released on social media. The title of the mixtape, plus Diffie’s likeness being included on the artwork, leads us to believe that all the songs will be Joe Diffie songs.

Joe Diffie’s vocals are also used in both recordings of “John Deere Green” and “Pickup Man.” HARDY released Hixtape Vol. 1 in 2019, followed by Hixtape Vol. 2 in 2022. Each contain 17 and 15 songs, respectively, and all feature countless country starts from Brantley Gilbert to Lauren Alaina, to Ronnie Dunn, and everyone in between!
