Graceland Pays Tribute To Lisa Marie On Anniversary Of Her Death

One year after the sudden and tragic death of Lisa Marie Presley, Graceland, the Memphis estate her late father called home, paid tribute to her.
Lisa Marie Presley died January 12, 2023, at the age of 54. Just four days before her death, Lisa Marie visited Graceland in honor of her late father Elvis’s birthday. Roughly two weeks later, she would return to her family’s iconic Memphis home, but this time to be laid to rest.
Lisa Marie was buried in the estate’s Meditation Garden next to her son, Benjamin who died in 2020, and near her father, the late King of Rock ‘n’ Roll, and his parents, Vernon and Gladys Presley.
Though Lisa was only 9-years-old when her famous father died, her childhood was full of memories of time spent at Graceland. Following her father’s death she became a joint heiress to his estate, and worked to preserve his legacy up until her own death.
On the first anniversary of Lisa’s passing, Graceland shared a photo of the star speaking to a crowd gathered in front of the home. The photo was accompanied by a message that simply read, “Today, we are remembering the life and legacy of Lisa Marie Presley.”

More About Lisa Marie Presley’s Death
The only child of Elvis and Priscilla Presley, Lisa Marie died of “sequelae of small bowel obstruction,” a complication of bariatric surgery she underwent several years prior.
Lisa’s ex-husband found her unresponsive in their home after she suffered cardiac arrest and called for assistance. She was taken to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead.
Priscilla was the first to confirm the news, saying: “It is with a heavy heart that I must share the devastating news that my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie has left us.”
“She was the most passionate, strong and loving woman I have ever known. We ask for privacy as we try to deal with this profound loss. Thank you for the love and prayers. At this time there will be no further comment.”
Lisa was honored with a memorial service at Graceland on January 22, 2023.
