Could these two be country music’s next duo? Seeing as they have performed together on more than one occasion, we wouldn’t be surprised!
Dwight Yoakam and Dierks Bentley first teamed up for an epic surprise duet during CMA Fest back in June. Bentley began performing Yoakam’s 1993 hit song “Fast As You” for the exhilarating crowd at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee.
After singing the first verse, Bentley brought out “the one and only Dwight Yoakam,” and the crowd went wild! Although their performance was rehearsed, no one in the audience knew that the country legend would be there!
Luckily for fans who weren’t able to be at CMA Fest, it was aired during a television special in August.
It seems Bentley and Yoakam had so much fun collaborating at CMA Fest, they decided to do it again – this time during Bentley’s final show of his Mountain High Tour. Taking place at the famed Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, California, the country singers performed Yoakam’s 1993 hit “A Thousand Miles From Nowhere,” trading off verses as well as jabs about each other’s home towns!
The real treat of the night, however, was when they began playing the iconic guitar riff to “Fast As You.” It truly doesn’t matter how many times we hear this song, you can’t help but get up and dance along, and Yoakam was even showing off some of his moves during the performance!
Bentley kicked off the song, with Yoakam following close behind on lead vocals. The “Woman Amen” singer’s opening act Brothers Osborne were also on hand to help out and TJ took lead on one verse.
This is proof that you never really know what to expect at a Dierks Bentley show, but thanks to fans who captured these moments on YouTube, we can experience it as though we were there, too!
We wouldn’t complain if Bentley and Yoakam made this a regular thing! Watch their “Fast As You” collaboration below.
