Dolly Parton’s famous Tennessee theme park, Dollywood, is officially open for the 2021 season!

Dollywood resides in Pigeon Forge, which is a small town in the heart of the Smoky Mountains. The park sits just a town over from Parton’s hometown of Sevierville, and both cities are located in Sevier County. The theme park spans about 150-acres and has become one of the world’s most prestigious adventure parks.

Dollywood has reopened on a limited basis, and Parton gave a live performance on Good Morning America from the park to celebrate the open gates. Performing on the park’s opening day has become a tradition for the country icon, and for the 2021 season, Parton chose to sing her hit “Coat of Many Colors.”

Parton strummed a rainbow patch guitar and sang on a beautiful platform surrounded by spring flowers. During the ceremony, the country star also sat down with Robin Roberts from Good Morning America to brag on the park staff. In the interview, she stated:

“I think it’s amazing how our crew has done all the things that they’ve done. Last year, of course, like everybody else, we were open on a limited basis but everybody was so great to practice the safety rules. The people here are like family so any time you have a process of any kind you just kind of pull together and get it done. People always brag about the staff here at Dollywood.”
