With the endless array of talent competitions on TV nowadays, every contestant must stick out above the rest. Although song and dance are among the most popular, one Oklahoma-native took a chance of a lifetime by showcasing her unique talent. On the twelfth season of America’s Got Talent, 12-year-old Darci Lynne Farmer‘s life changed forever.
The Story Behind The Duo
Darci Lynne is a young ventriloquist. The now-14-year-old gained her fame after her big 2017 win on America’s Got Talent alongside her puppet, Petunia. Farmer performs a comedy-singing act where Petunia, a girly rabbit, loves to steal the spotlight. Since her win, the inseparable duo have performed on various talk shows, award shows, and even had their own Las Vegas show.
Mid-December, Farmer wanted to ring in the holidays with the help of her friends and fans. In her first original TV special, Darci Lynne: My Hometown Christmas, the young talent puts on musical performances both solo and alongside her puppet friends too. The special also includes a series of artists performing their favorite Christmas tunes for the viewers including Toby Keith and Hunter Hayes.
The performance begins with Farmer appearing on stage in a gorgeous red dress and shoes to match. With Christmas decorations all around her, Farmer glides across the stage while singing Brenda Lee’s famous “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree.” Shortly into the performance, Petunia joins Farmer on stage arriving in a big green present. After the two share some of their favorite hilarious memories together, they jump back into the song for a duet.
Smiles gaze across the audience as they finish their high-energy performance.
