Alan Jackson has delighted fans worldwide with more than 20 studio albums over four decades.

His remarkable career has earned him a place in the Country Music Hall of Fame and the Songwriters Hall of Fame. This month, it was announced that he will be honored as a 2024 recipient of the prestigious ACM Poet’s Award.

According to the Academy of Country Music, this award goes to a country music songwriter for “outstanding and longstanding musical and/or lyrical contributions throughout their career, with special consideration given to a song or songs’ impact on the culture of Country Music.”

Known as one of the most accomplished singer-songwriters in music history, Alan Jackson has reigned over the charts, securing an impressive 51 top 10 hits on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart, with an astonishing 26 No. 1s!

It was also recently announced that Jackson will receive the Kris Kristofferson Lifetime Achievement Award from the Nashville Songwriters Association International later this year.

It’s safe to say that Alan Jackson is what traditional country music is truly all about. But it looks like his musical journey might be coming to a close soon.

At 65, Jackson is set to embark on his Last Call: One More for the Road Tour, hitting the road for one last time as he contemplates retirement. The tour will travel to 10 different cities, commencing in Boston on August 2, 2024, and concluding in Milwaukee on May 17, 2025.

“I’ve been touring for over 30 years, you know, and heading into my twilight years. My daughters are all grown, we have one grandchild and one on the way…I’m enjoying spending more time at home and don’t want to be away. [I] had a wonderful, wonderful career and my fans always show up and have a good time, and I’m going to try to give them the best show I can for the ‘Last Call.'”
