Besides hosting the 59th Annual ACM Awards, Reba McEntire also served as a performer!
She closed out the show with her brand-new song “I Can’t,” but that wasn’t the first time she performed during the show. Following Post Malone’s medley of his songs, McEntire joined him on stage. The entire time she spoke to him, all he could do was shake his head in disbelief that he was even in the presence of a legend like her!
“We recently lost Dickey Betts from the Allman Brothers Band,” Reba told the audience. “And if you would, let’s sing a little bit of ‘Ramblin’ Man,’ Okay?”
Post Malone replied, “I don’t see why not.”
McEntire then asked him to play a G chord, before she began singing the Allman Brothers’ 1973 hit song. She sang the first few lines, then Post Malone sang a few solo before they joined together in harmony.
Dickey Betts passed away on April 18 at the age of 80.
The Allman Brothers Band announced about Betts’ death on their official Facebook page. They said:
“With deep sadness the Allman Brothers Band learned today that founding member Dickey Betts has passed away peacefully in his home in Sarasota, Florida, following a period of declining health.”
They ended their statement by writing, “Play on Brother Dickey, you will be forever remembered and deeply missed.”

The “Ramblin’ Man” duet came directly after Post Malone performed two songs off of his upcoming country album.
Post Malone, who Reba so-lovingly called “Posty,” gave fans a preview of what is to come from his country project.
He sang a new song titled “I’ll Never Love You Again” and a solo version his duet with Morgan Wallen, “I Had Some Help,” which hit country radio on May 10.
