Willie Nelson recently received the COVID-19 vaccine, and he is encouraging others to do the same.

Nelson shared a Facebook post on Wednesday, which revealed pictures of Family Hospital Systems administering his COVID vaccine. Nelson shot the camera a thumbs up as he received the injection from the comfort of his vehicle.

“Get your shot! Take care of yourself and others!” Nelson wrote on social media.

Family Hospital Systems thanked Nelson for his part in slowing the spread of COVID-19. They also encouraged their followers to sign up for the vaccine, which the facility remarked was “Willie cool!” Family Hospital Systems wrote:

“Getting your COVID vaccine is Willie cool! Thank you Willie Nelson for helping Family Hospital Systems slow the spread of COVID-19! We want to encourage everyone to continue to get routine tests and signup for a vaccine. Family Hospital Systems drive through tests and vaccines are convenient and easy. Sign up today”

Nelson turned 87 in April 2020. In an interview with Slate, Nelson revealed that he never thought he would see his 80s. Nelson admitted: 

“I didn’t ever think I’d get this old. I always thought I was lucky to make it past 21.”
