Vince Gill Just Extended His Record Deal
Vince Gill has been signed to MCA Records since 1989, and he’s about to spend many more years with them.
In a landmark announcement, MCA signed Gill to a “lifetime recording deal,” which we can only assume means for the rest of Gill’s life.

While being signed to MCA, Gill has released 16 albums, won 22 Grammy Awards, seven ACM Awards, and 18 CMA Awards. His Grammy count is the highest of all male country singers. The only award he has won while not being signed to MCA was Top Male Vocalist at the ACM Awards in 1984.
Vince Will Release A New EP Every Month For A Year
As part of the deal, Gill will be releasing an EP every month for the next year! We won’t have to wait long for the first one, which is titled 50 Years From Home: Everything I Had, as it will be released on October 17.
Music Row reports that the EP will include “Go Rest High On That Mountain” with the third verse he has only played live.
Of the new deal, Gill says, “I’m feeling the most creative I’ve ever felt in my career these last few years. I’ve collected a treasure trove of songs and with my friends and partners at MCA we’ve come up with a way to release all this new music. It’s a partnership that’s lasted 36 years and I’m grateful for it.”
The President & CEO of MCA, Mike Harris, added, “Vince has been a major part of the MCA family for decades. This lifetime agreement reflects our unwavering commitment to supporting his artistic vision and providing him artistic freedom while ensuring his legacy continues to grow.”
Congratulations to Vince on this monumental career moment!
