The Grand Ole Opry Is Celebrating Their 100th Anniversary With A Year Long Celebration
In celebration of 100 years, the Opry has special plans to honor the artists who paved the way in country music.
In March, the iconic Grand Ole Opry aired a live all-star television special to celebrate the venue’s 100th anniversary.
The night highlighted dozens of Opry members, with several legends even stepping onto the stage to perform.
The three-hour event was packed with unforgettable tributes, from Kelsea Ballerini honoring Barbara Mandrell with a performance of “I Was Country When Country Wasn’t Cool,” to Carrie Underwood moving the crowd to tears with her tribute to Randy Travis.
And who could forget the night’s grand finale, when more than 50 living Opry members took the stage together to honor Dolly Parton with a performance of “I Will Always Love You.”

But the Opry isn’t stopping there. The celebration continues with special performances and events planned for the remainder of the year.
One of the biggest is the Opry 100 Honors, which will include a multi-show Tribute to the Trailblazers series.
According to the Opry’s official website, this live show series will spotlight the artists and duos who helped shape country music and continue to inspire its future.
Each show will be dedicated to a specific trailblazing artist, with today’s top country stars performing their greatest hits.
The Opry Announces New “Tribute To The Trailblazers” Shows
The first few Tribute to the Trailblazer shows announced by the Opry were dedicated to honoring Loretta Lynn, Johnny Cash, and June Carter Cash. Following those, a show is set for July 8 to pay tribute to the legacy of Charlie Daniels.
But just yesterday (June 19), the Opry shared even more exciting news. Three new tribute shows have been added to the Trailblazer series.
These upcoming events will honor country icons Porter Wagoner, Bill Monroe, and the legendary duo Roy Acuff and Minnie Pearl.
For those interested, tickets for each show are now on sale. A portion of the proceeds will go to the Opry Trust Fund. This supports members of the country music community in times of need.
