After weeks of competing, Bryce Leatherwood was one of five singers who advanced to the Season 22 finale of The Voice. The Team Blake standout is known for his pure country performances.

Leatherwood kept things country with both of his performances during the finale. He sang Travis Tritt‘s “T-R-O-U-B-L-E” and Keith Whitley‘s “Don’t Close Your Eyes.”

The Georgia native dedicated his performance of the latter song to his home state. “The story of Bryce Leatherwood will always start with Georgia,” he said before his performance.

Leatherwood’s rendition of “Don’t Close Your Eyes” was as country as could be. His coach, Blake Shelton, said the song was perfect for him. He knew it would appeal to the many country fans who watch The Voice.

The comments on the YouTube video of Leatherwood’s performance show that Shelton’s thoughts were right on point:

Bryce has been a strong singer and performer this entire season. This song just reinforces his clear understanding of what he wants to do,” wrote one viewer.
