Tanya Tucker Shares Update Following Hip Surgery
CBS Sunday Morning / YouTube
On July 14, Tanya Tucker canceled all of her remaining shows for the month of July. Her representative shared a statement with WDIO explaining why the country music legend had to cancel her concerts so suddenly…she had to undergo emergency surgery:
“It is with regret that we have to cancel all shows for the remainder of July as Tanya has been admitted to the hospital today for an emergency hip replacement surgery as an MRI has revealed a hip fracture that requires immediate attention,” the representative said. “We truly appreciate you.”
Thankfully, it seems Tucker’s surgery went well. She personally reached out to her fans the day after her surgery (July 15) to let everyone know that she won’t let this hold her back.
“The operation went well & I’m on track for a speedy recovery,” she said. “I’ll be at home healing for a few weeks… I LOVE y’all & a bad hip can’t keep me down!”
Exactly one week after her surgery (July 21), Tucker took to social media to share another update with her fans.
Tucker posted a video showcasing some of the lovely floral arrangements people have sent to her since her surgery. She said it “amazes” her to see “the outpouring of love” since she had her surgery.
“The flowers have been coming in steadily & they’re so beautiful!,” Tucker wrote. “Thank u so much for all the love, support & positive words of encouragement as I recover!!! Like I said before… A bad hip can’t keep me down!!!”
