‘Strawberry Wine’ Singer Deana Carter Marries In Intimate Beach Ceremony

In 1996, country fans fell in love with a newcomer named Deana Carter, whose debut single “Strawberry Wine” was all the rage that year. The song, told from the perspective of a grown woman reflecting on a relationship from her teen years, continues to be a beloved country classic.
In 2017, Deana fell in love herself, with a man named Jim McPhail that she met through a group of mutual friends. The couple was instantly smitten with each other, with Jim appearing in many of Deana’s Instagram photos.
Most recently, the couple celebrated the Fourth of July holiday together. Deana posted a photo of the two of them at the Santa Rosa Beach in Florida, writing, “Happy Birthday America! We are #SOBlessed!!!”

It turns out that Deana may have been hinting at something when she referenced how “blessed” she felt on the Fourth of July. Just two days later, she and Jim married during an intimate ceremony at The Pearl Hotel in Rosemary Beach, Florida.
Deana managed to keep the news of her wedding a secret for well over a week. Finally, the couple shared the happy news and some wedding photos with People on Friday (July 13).
The bride was a vision in white, wearing an elegant halter gown that she accented with a small tiara in her hair. As for Jim, he looked incredibly handsome in a summery getup that consisted of blue pants and a tan blazer.
Speaking about their wedding, the newlyweds had this to say when they spoke to People:
“This is a special time for both of us. We are extremely blessed to have met during this season of our lives and blending our families into one happy one.”

The private ceremony was certainly a family affair, with Deana’s sister-in-law officiating and her brother Jeff walking her down the aisle.
