Miranda Lambert And Chris Stapleton Drop Retro-Themed Music Video For New Duet, “A Song To Sing”
After working together several times in the past, Chris Stapleton and Miranda Lambert dropped their first official duet on July 11.
Titled “A Song to Sing,” the track is a groovy love song that transports listeners decades into the past. It was co-written by Lambert, Stapleton, Jenee Fleenor, and Jesse Frasure.

Once they heard the song, fans likened it to hit country duets of the ’70s and ’80s, especially Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers‘ “Islands in the Stream.” Stapleton and Lambert fully leaned into the retro theme in their official music video, which premiered on August 22.
The fun and funky music video shows Stapleton and Lambert rocking ’70s-style attire while singing in a roller disco. Stapleton’s wife and singing partner, Morgane Stapleton, also appears in the video, looking downright gorgeous in a glittery gold jumpsuit.
Fans kept getting serious Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers vibes from the “A Song to Sing” music video. As it turns out, that was entirely intentional!
The Duo Wore Kenny Rogers’ And Dolly Parton’s Jewelry In Their Music Video
Eagle-eyed fans may have noticed how Stapleton and Lambert subtly paid tribute to Rogers and Parton in their music video for “A Song to Sing.” But if you didn’t pick up on the nod to the country legends, Lambert recently revealed how they honored them in the video.
Stapleton and Lambert each wore jewelry from Rogers’ and Parton’s estates. Stapleton donned a gold lion necklace that once belonged to Rogers (who passed away in 2020). Lambert wore clip-on hoop-style earrings from Parton.
“What an honor,” Lambert said about having the chance to wear the special accessories. She shared a series of photos and videos showcasing the jewelry in more detail, which you can see by flipping through the slideshow below.
