Reba McEntire & Melissa Peterman Set To Co-Host New Podcast

Reunited and it feels so good!

Reba McEntire and her Reba show co-star Melissa Peterman are teaming up to host a brand-new podcast on Spotify called Living & Learning with Reba McEntire. When putting the podcast together, the singer felt like she needed a little help to host it, but she didn’t have to look far.

“I’m a better listener, and when [the guests] get to talking, I keep listening,” McEntire told PEOPLE. “Melissa hops in and asks another question to keep it rolling, so I think we make a good team.”

The world got to watch McEntire and Peterman share the screen on Reba from 2001 to 2007. The series followed McEntire’s titular character as she navigated single motherhood after her husband left her to be with his younger dental assistant Barbra Jean, Peterman’s character.

Reba and Barbra Jean’s relationship was easily a highlight for any fan of the show. Reba’s disdain for Peterman’s character for breaking up her family is very clear, but over time, Reba warms up to Barbra Jean and eventually sees her as a friend.

In real life, McEntire and Peterman have stayed extremely close since the sitcom wrapped, often sharing photos from their vacations and outings together. Peterman even served as a writer for McEntire when she hosted the ACM Awards in 2019!

Earlier in 2020, the dynamic duo reunited as their Reba characters for a couple videos about how they’re dealing with quarantine.

McEntire announced the new project on Instagram, saying that their first episodes with actor Leslie Jordan and country singer Lauren Alaina are now available. Upcoming guests include Dolly Parton, Kristin Chenoweth, Jane Fonda, author Glennon Doyle, and Karamo Brown.

Peterman also took to Instagram to celebrate their launch day, which revealed just how long this project has been in the works!

“We took this picture the first day we started recording before things shut down and we had to pivot,” she wrote. “But we never stopped smiling. I am so excited to join my friend on this new adventure. It has been a joy to talk to all of the incredible guests and I hope you enjoy it as much as we did.”
