Ray Stevens Suffered A Heart Attack And Underwent Surgery In July
Country Music Hall of Famer Ray Stevens is looking after his health after suffering a heart attack last month.
On July 8, Stevens’ team shared that he was in recovery following a “minimally invasive heart surgery” the day prior (July 7). Before the surgery, the 86-year-old singer had complained about chest pain, and it was later concluded that he’d suffered a mild heart attack.
Stevens’ initial surgery was declared a success. His team shared an additional update on July 9, saying:
“Ray is out of ICU and beginning to walk the halls as therapy with a nurse’s assistance as he is working towards recovering from this surgery. Ray is very grateful for all of the cards and get well messages.“
Understandably, Stevens canceled his then-upcoming performances at his CabaRay Showroom in Nashville to take the time he needed to recover.
Stevens’ team shared an address where fans can mail cards with well-wishes while he recovers from his heart attack and surgery. That address is:

In New Health Update, Ray Stevens Reveals His Intention To Sell His Famous CabaRay Showroom In Nashville
On Monday (August 19), Ray Stevens and his team shared a new update on his health. The update revealed that Stevens underwent a second surgery, during which the doctors placed two stents and cleared other blockages they discovered. Following that procedure, Stevens spent a few days recovering at a rehabilitation facility in Nashville before he returned home.
Amid his health struggles, Stevens has decided it would be challenging for him to continue owning and operating his CabaRay Showroom in Nashville. The venue opened its doors in January 2018 and has been the go-to place to see Stevens perform in recent years.
Stevens initially planned to slow down and stop performing at CabaRay in 2024, but later changed his mind. He continued singing there in 2025, up until he suffered his heart attack in July.
However, Stevens has now revealed his plans to sell the CabaRay.
“At 86 and with my recent health problems, it’s probably time to slow down, and selling CabaRay is the first step,” Stevens said in a statement shared on his social media pages. “But in the interim, I still plan on doing shows once I’m fully recovered. I still have a lot I want to do in the recording studio, so I’ll focus all of my energy in that direction along with making videos to go along with the music from time to time.”
Stevens hopes that whoever owns the CabaRay in the future will love it as much as he has. “I’d like to see someone buy it and have as much fun here as I’ve had,” he said.
Those interested in purchasing the CabaRay can contact Stevens’ office at (615) 327-4629 or email rstevens@raystevens.com.
