Priscilla Explains How Elvis Would Celebrate Birthday If Alive In 2021

Elvis Presley would have celebrated his 86th birthday on January 8th, and his ex-wife, Priscilla, shared a touching post to mark the occasion.

Priscilla shared memories of Elvis on Facebook and gave fans a deeper glimpse into the music icon’s life. The 75-year-old also admitted that she wonders how Elvis would celebrate his birthday if he were alive today in 2021. Ultimately, Priscilla decided that he would mark the occasion by “celebrating exactly the same way” and noted that Elvis was a “creature of habit.”

“It’s difficult to believe Elvis would be 86 today, January 8th,” Priscilla wrote to her followers. “I think back and wonder…if he were here today, how would he celebrate in the year 2021. It’s not really hard as Elvis was somewhat…a creature of habit. I believe he would be celebrating exactly the same way. Having a small amount of his friends, family and his Memphis Mafia all gathered at Graceland.”

Throughout the remembrance post, Priscilla hung on memories of Elvis’ laugh and musical talent. She recalled how Elvis would sing as if no one else were around and even mentioned the music legend’s dislike of presents. Priscilla stated:

“I can almost hear his laugh, see him joking around, and know he would be staying up into the early morning hours… ending at the piano singing gospel songs. Elvis, lost in the lyrics, as if no one was around. Then as the song comes to an end and with a slight smile, turns to his guest and nods with satisfaction as everyone applauds for more. Those are cherished moments embedded in my mind. Elvis was uncomfortable and a bit shy in receiving presents. Your presence was enough.”

Elvis and Priscilla were married from 1967–1973 and welcomed one child, Lisa Marie Presley.
