Melissa Gilbert Shares Exciting New Role As “Nana”

Melissa Gilbert has a new exciting role to play!
The Little House on the Prairie alum is officially a “Nana!” The new grandmother shared the exciting news with her Instagram followers on June 9th. In her caption, she wrote:
“So so happy to tell you all that @timbusfield and I are Nana and Papa to this sweet angel. Ripley Lou Brinkman arrived last night at 6:18 pm central time. She weighs 7lbs 7oz and is 19.5 inches long. Everyone is healthy and doing well.”

In another post, the actress joked that her feed was “going to get boring if you’re not into babies.” Gilbert also voiced her excitement in meeting her granddaughter for the first time. Now, Riley is already a month old, and Gilbert has shared several sweet bonding pictures of her granddaughter.

Currently, Gilbert lives in New York, while her son, Dakota Brinkman, and his wife, Marissa, reside in Texas. Still, the actress does not let the distance keep her from spending an ample amount of time with her family.
