After ten years of marriage, Lisa Marie Presley filed from divorce from her husband Michael Lockwood. Rumors of the split first surfaced in June 2016 and Presley’s rep confirmed the news to ABC News just hours later.
Presley and Lockwood have two children together, twin daughters Harper and Finley, who were born on October 7, 2008. In court documents obtained by People, it was revealed that Presley cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for the divorce. According to the documents, Presley is also seeking full custody of the couple’s now 7-year-old daughters with monitored visitation for Lockwood.

Things got a little messy when Lockwood filed for spousal support. According to E! News, Lockwood’s lawyer “said in court his client has no income and cannot afford his legal fees.”
Lisa Marie’s lawyer argued that she shouldn’t have to pay his fees seeing as she is in debt, doesn’t have any assets, and “receives $104,000 a month from her inheritance from late father Elvis Presley’s estate for living expenses, most of which go to her kids,” but Lockwood is convinced she has millions hidden from the court system.
In February 2017, Lisa Marie was ordered to pay her ex-husband’s legal fees, adding up to $50,000 and his lawyer fees are now upwards to $450,000, which he is trying to get Lisa Marie to pay.

It seems that this battle is long from over, because in new documents obtained by TMZ, Lisa Marie is trying to prove that she is, in fact, in massive debt. More than $16 million in debt, to be exact, according to TMZ.
The site reports that more than $10 million of her debt is from unpaid taxes from 2012-2015, and she owes $6 million on her house in England, which she stopped paying the mortgage on and has been trying to sell since her divorce filing in 2016.
It is unknown when the two are due back in court.
