Lainey Wilson Meets Her Country Music Idol for the First Time

Wilson’s love of Parton was instilled in her at a young age and woven into her music through the years. She shares with Music Mayhem that it wasn’t until the 2023 AMC Awards she got her chance to meet her divine inspiration.

“The way that we met was at the ACMs, she was presenting Female Vocalist Of The Year and she called my name and that’s how I met her,” Wilson said, reminiscing on the moment she met her musical hero.

“It was the most surreal moment… It was like, I mean, one of the biggest moments of my life for two different reasons,” she explained. “She was just everything I imagined and more. They say don’t meet your heroes, but she’s just got a heart of gold. I think if we were all a little more like her the world would be a much better place.”
