Dolly Parton Admits She Hides One Important Thing In Her Wigs

Dolly Parton has a lot going on! Her latest Christmas movie-slash-special Dolly Parton’s Mountain Magic Christmas aired on NBC on December 1st.We say movie-slash-special because it is technically a movie, but the movie is about the behind-the-scenes of putting a TV Christmas special together!

She is also getting ready to co-host NBC’s New Year’s Eve special with her goddaughter, Miley Cyrus (who also makes an appearance in Dolly’s movie).

To promote those two huge projects, Dolly went on several talk shows including The Kelly Clarkson Show, The TODAY Show, and The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. She even stopped by CMT’s Hot 20 Countdown show, where she revealed a HUGE secret.
She admitted, “My wig cap has a little pocket on it in the back because my clothes are so tight my mic pack don’t fit nowhere. There’s only room for me in my clothes. So I have it to where the mic fits in my hair. ‘Cause I wear wigs all the time, and so it goes right over it and we just kind of mic it around and it works perfect.”
This isn’t the first time this secret has been revealed. In 2017, talk show host Graham Norton first spoke about the secret in an interview with The Huffington Post.
“Dolly Parton is so tiny, and so proud of her tiny waist, that she has a little pocket built into all her wigs for her microphone pack, so that her waist can stay as tiny as possible,” Norton said. “She must have microwaved bits of her brain, but that is more important.”
