Americans Celebrated The 250th Birthday Of The US Army On Saturday (June 14)

Saturday, June 14th, was a significant day for many reasons. Not only is it Flag Day, but it is also the day we celebrate the US Army’s birthday. Formed in 1775, the Army is the longest-serving branch of the United States military. Notably, June 14th was also President Donald Trump’s 79th birthday.

To celebrate this occasion, the White House put on an epic celebration, including the first military parade since the nation’s victory in the Gulf War in 1991. Trump announced the parade in a video on Instagram, saying, “On June 14, which is Flag Day, we’re honoring the 250th anniversary of the greatest fighting force in history, the United States Army.”

He promised it would be a “celebration…like you’ve never seen before.”

The parade saw 6,600 troops march down Constitution Avenue NW, between 15th Street and 23rd Street, in Washington, D.C. Partway through the parade, President Trump administered the oath to recent graduates of the United States Military Academy at West Point.

The celebration also featured a performance from Warren Zeiders, who sang his original song “Pretty Little Poison.”

The Celebration Ended With A Flashy Fireworks Show While Also Honoring Toby Keith

To end the big celebration, a fireworks show lit up the night sky right to the tune of “American Solder” by Toby Keith, who was an avid supporter of the military. The song rang out as the red, white, and blue fireworks were set off.

Towards the end of the song, the US Army Chorus walked out and simultaneously began singing “Battle Hymn Of The Republic.” The sound of both of those songs being played and sung at the same time gave us the chills!
