During Wednesday’s ACM Honors, Jamey Johnson took the stage to recognize Randy Travis.

“In Color” singer Jamey Johnson was among the artists who took the stage at The Pinnacle in Nashville to pay tribute to Randy Travis. Johnson chose to perform Travis’s 2022 hit song “Three Wooden Crosses.”

Following Johnson’s performance, he presented Randy and Mary Travis with the ACM Milestone Award. As Randy made his way to the stage, he was met with a rousing standing ovation from the crowd, a testament of his impact on the genre and the love his fans still have for him.

Prior to the award ceremony, Randy and Mary Travis walked the red carpet and shared their excitement over the honor. Red carpet host Lindsey Stirling asked Randy what it meant to him to win the award. Randy beamed as he nodded and expressed his excitement. “It makes you happy, huh?” Mary asked her husband.

She added, “He’s so grateful. He and the ACMs have pretty much traveled the career of Randy Travis together. Early on, when his songs came out, the ACM was one of the first to recognize [him] … To see it come full circle and to be here this many years later, I know it means so much to Randy.”
