Tanya Tucker has been forced to cancel upcoming July 2021 shows after being admitted for emergency surgery.

On Wednesday, July 15, the country star was admitted to the hospital for an emergency hip replacement. Tucker suffered a fractured hip, and according to her representation, the injury required urgent attention. In a statement to WDIO, Tucker’s representative explained:

“It is with regret that we have to cancel all shows for the remainder of July as Tanya has been admitted to the hospital today for an emergency hip replacement surgery as an MRI has revealed a hip fracture that requires immediate attention. We truly appreciate you.”

Tucker was previous booked to perform Saturday, July 17, at Big Top Chautauqua in Bayfield, WI, and will no longer attend. The festival broke the news to fans on Facebook, and explained that they were working to reschedule the singer’s performance.

“It is with a heavy heart we announce Tanya Tucker’s show for this Saturday, July 17, 2021 has been cancelled,” a spokesperson from the festival shared. “Tanya has been admitted to the hospital today for an emergency hip replacement surgery as an MRI has revealed a hip fracture that requires immediate attention. We are in the process of working with her team to reschedule the performance for a later date.”
