On July 12, 2020, Lisa Marie Presley’s son, Benjamin Keough, took his own life.

His death was confirmed when Lisa Marie’s rep, Roger Widynowski, issued a statement to People on her behalf:

She is completely heartbroken, inconsolable and beyond devastated but trying to stay strong for her 11-year-old twins and her oldest daughter Riley,” Roger said. “She adored that boy. He was the love of her life.”

Since his passing, she has stayed silent on social media until October 21, which is the day Ben would have turned 28.

She shared a photo of him from a previous birthday, and wrote, “My beautiful beautiful angel, I worshipped the ground you walked on, on this earth and now in Heaven. My heart and soul went with you,” she wrote alongside a pic of Benjamin blowing out candles on a cake. “The depth of the pain is suffocating and bottomless without you every moment of every day. I will never be the same.”

Lisa Marie continued, “Please wait for me my love, and hold my hand while I stay to continue to protect and raise your little sisters and to be here for Riley. I know you would want that.”

She is referring to her 11-year-old twins Harper and Finley and 31-year-old daughter Riley Keough.

She concluded the tribute post by saying, “Happy Birthday my sweet sweet Boy. You were much too good for this world.”

Ben’s sister Riley also took to Instagram to pay tribute to her late brother.

The pain of losing a child is immeasurable. We will keep Lisa Marie and her family in our prayers.
