Kenny Rogers’ Twin Sons Open Up About Their Late Dad In New Interview

Kenny Rogers was 65-years-old when his twin sons were born. The twins, Justin and Jordan, are now 19 and recently opened up about their late dad.

Kenny Rogers passed away in March 2020 when his twin boys were just 16-years-old. But, the late “The Gambler” singer had a profound impact on Justin and Jordan. In a recent interview with PEOPLE, the twins opened up about their dad and shared the sweet advice he gave them.

“I used to be bullied a lot. I’d come home crying and my dad would say, ‘Just keep being yourself. You’re very funny,’” Jordan said. “Every day I still live up to that.”

The boys said that they work hard to continue the traditions that Kenny started with them, like Super Saturdays — a weekly routine where the boys have breakfast at McDonald’s followed by a trip to the car wash and ending the day at Chuck E. Cheese.

“I remember all the fun memories we used to have at Chuck E. Cheese,” says Jordan. “We still go to that location and we sit at the exact same table that we used to.”

Justin, who graduated high school this year along with Jordan, said “I miss everything about him. He was a really fun dad.”

Kenny’s widow, Wanda, told PEOPLE that the twins remind her a lot of her late husband.

“I see so much of him in their mannerisms, how they stand with their hands in their pockets or behind their backs when they’re listening to something,” she says. “I always tell them, ‘That was your dad’s look.’ The older they get, the more they want to know about him. I hear them tell people, ‘My dad used to stand like that.’ It’s so sweet.”

During the same interview, Wanda revealed that she has found love again three years after Kenny’s death and did so with Kenny’s blessing.

Wanda Rogers told the publication that her husband knew he wouldn’t be around forever and wanted her to find love again after he passed away. Wanda, 56, recalled the moment Kenny shared his wishes with her.

“He said, ‘I’m not going to be here forever. I want you to be happy,’” she said, recalling the moment he turned the TV off and turned to her. “‘You’re young. I want you to have a full life past me.’ And of course I was like, ‘What? I don’t want to talk about that. Turn the TV back on.’”
