The album features his favorite country classics including the Hank Williams Jr. song the album is named after and special guests Runaway June, Chris Janson, Kris Kristofferson, Maddie & Tae, John Anderson, and Randy Travis.

The track listing is as follows.

1.  “I’m No Stranger To The Rain”
2.  “I’ve Got It Made” (with John Anderson)
3.  “Why Me” (with Kris Kristofferson)
4.  “Country State Of Mind” (with Chris Janson)
5.  “I Can Tell By The Way You Dance”
6.  “Alone And Forsaken” (with Allison Moorer)
7.  “Forever And Ever, Amen” (With Special Guest Randy Travis)
8.  “Midnight In Montgomery”
9.  “Good Ol’ Boys”
10. “You Don’t Seem To Miss Me” (with Runaway June)
11. “Desperately” (with Maddie & Tae)
12. “The Caretaker”

Turner is a known admirer of Travis and has even performed with him several times over the years. In more recent years, due to a debilitating stroke in 2013, Travis’s appearances – let alone performances – have been few and far between.

Just one week before the album’s release, Turner and Travis stopped by The Bobby Bones Show to perform “Forever and Ever, Amen” live on the radio.

But, as we all know, live performances of songs and their recordings can sound different, so we still didn’t know what to expect when Country State Of Mind dropped. Luckily, the day has finally come and their new version of Travis’ 1987 song is finally out.

Take a listen to it below.
