This little lady left her audience in tears following a remarkable rendition of Lee Greenwoodâs iconic song âGod Bless The USA.â
8-year-old Marleigh Miller, clad in a blue dress and matching bow, began singing to an adoring crowd of veterans and their families.
In the middle of the song, the veterans held hands and formed a circle, leading Marleigh to the center. Although the microphone began to cut out, the pint-sized girl continued to sing her heart out and didnât miss a beat.
During the lyrics, âAnd I gladly stand up / Next to you and defend her still today / Cause there ainât no doubt I love this land / God bless the USA,â the crowd lifted their hands in unison for a truly chilling moment.
Greenwood first released âGod Bless The USAâ in 1984 off his album Youâve Got a Good Love Cominâ.
Although the song was a massive hit, its popularity rose after the September 11th attacks, during the 2003 invasion of Iraq, and again when Osama bin Laden was killed in 2011. He famously sang the song during the World Series at Yankee Stadium game following the September 11th attacks.
Not only did Marleighâs composure during the sound system mishap blow us away, but so did her entire performance. Watch it below.
