On Night One of the two-night season finale of The Voice, Bryce Leatherwood pretty much sealed his fate just by his song choices.

Leatherwood has the name of a country star and he has proven week after week this 22nd season of The Voice that he is ready to be one. Each of the five finalists performed two songs on Monday night (Dec. 12).

Leatherwood’s first song was the late Keith Whitley’s hit song “Don’t Close Your Eyes.” Lorrie Morgan, Whitley’s widow, saw it and thought he deserved to win the show based on that performance alone. “I’ll bet Keith is smiling down! Brought tears to my eyes!” she said.

But, even though fans thought he had it in the bag after that performance, he still had to sing one more. For his second song, he turned it up a few notches with Travis Tritt’s “T-R-O-U-B-L-E.”

The second that he counted the band in, we knew it would be in for a treat with this rowdy rendition of Tritt’s 1992 song, which was originally performed by Elvis Presley in 1975.

Travis Tritt saw the performance and said, “I smell T-R-O-U-B-L-E”
