Terri Clark Inducts Ashley McBryde Into The Grand Ole Opry

Back in October, Garth Brooks surprised Ashley McBryde on CBS Mornings by inviting her to become the newest member of the Grand Ole Opry. An emotional McBryde started crying as she accepted Brooks’ invitation:
“It would be the great joy and the great honor of my life, thank you Garth…There’s the GRAMMYs and there’s being a member of the Grand Ole Opry – they are the two greatest things that can happen to you as an entertainer. I’ve always said I will earn it, and this is a pretty surreal moment.”
McBryde was inducted into the Opry during a celebratory show on Saturday (December 10). Special guests included Wynonna Judd, Eric Church, and Terri Clark. Clark was the person who inducted McBryde into the Opry.
“About last night…. ‘Magical’ is the only word to describe the @opry induction of my sweet friend @ashleymcbryde,” Clark said in a post on social media after McBryde’s induction. “So deserving. Such a force. Thank you for asking me to do the honors, but even if you hadn’t,I wouldn’t have missed it for the world. Who’s gonna fill their shoes?… YOU are,my friend.”
Clark also shared a bunch of photos from her night celebrating McBryde at the Opry.

McBryde gushed about the night in a post of her own. She shared some photos, and wrote:
“I keep checking… pinching myself… rechecking… to make sure last night was real. I woke up today a member of the Grand Ole Opry. All of those magical parts of last night that felt so dream like were REAL. It’s going to take a few days (more like weeks) to process all that just happened.”
