We’ve seen our fair share of couple duets, sibling singalongs, and spouse karaoke but our newest favorite holds a different special bond. Canadian dad-daughter duo took to Facebook with the sweetest rendition. Jamming and singing to Merle Haggard‘s “Today I Started Loving You Again” was Malia and Derek Erb.
The jam session takes place in their home where they are accompanied by an array of instruments. Aside from potentially starting a band with his mini-me, it looks like Derek was in his own band as well! He posted a nostalgic picture of him and a band member playing live. No wonder rockin’ talent runs in the family!
Malia starts off by introducing herself and her guitarist father. Malia admits that she was the one who actually picked the heartfelt classic.
“I asked him if he could play this song, he said yes and I hope you guys all enjoy it… so yeah!”
Turning to her dad with a smile, he gets the music ready. The rendition starts with the dad’s (Derek) vocals for the first couple verses. Young Malia follows behind in the next couple verses, confidently singing every note. She might be tiny but her voice proves otherwise! Derek covers the guitar solo bridge where Malia watches in admiration.
After the bridge, the duo sings along together in perfect harmony. Earning 3,000 views with over 60 comments, it’s no doubt that the community is loving this pair! Tons of people commented on the video in hopes for more performances to come. What do you think they should cover next?!
