After joining CBS’ The Talk in 2019, Marie Osmond has announced her departure from the daytime talk show.
When she began her run as co-host in 2019, she was simultaneously performing with her brother Donny Osmond at their long-running Vegas residency at the Flamingo, which ended in December 2019 after 11 years.
Thanks to her dual jobs, Osmond always had lots of stories to tell her co-hosts Sharon Osbourne, Carrie Ann Inaba, Eve, and Sheryl Underwood.
While the show is currently on summer hiatus and gearing up for its Season 11 premiere, Osmond made the announcement that Season 10 would be her one and only year on the show.
Not only did Osmond exit the award-winning talk show, so did executive producer and showrunner John Redmann.
“One of the highlights of my year at The Talk was working with my dear friend John Redmann, and I’m excited to continue our working relationship on several projects we are developing,” Osmond wrote on Instagram.
The entertainer also noted that family was a big factor in stepping away, saying, “My husband and I just dropped our last two kids off at college, we looked at each other, laughed and remembered we hadn’t been this alone together since 1982!! So, at this stage of my life, I’m looking forward to spending more time with him and visiting all the kids/grandkids.”
CBS told Deadline, “Marie is a consummate professional, and we thank her for sharing her personal experiences, insight, as well as incredible talents, with our audience. We will miss her humor, kindness and good nature, and wish her much success in her future endeavors.”
Season 11 of The Talk will premiere with the four remaining co-hosts until Osmond’s replacement is named. We wish her the very best and can’t wait to see what she will do next!
