On May 13, 2019, it was announced that beloved Hollywood icon Doris Day had passed away at the age of 97. Her foundation, the Doris Day Animal Foundation shared the news on their Twitter.
She started her career as a big band singer in 1939 and made her big break in 1945 when her song âSentimental Journeyâ went number one on the charts. The song has been covered by many different singers over the years, including Conway Twitty.
Once Day was an established singer, she tried her hand at acting, and the world fell even more in love with her. She made her debut in 1948 in the movie Romance On the High Seas, which began her very successful 20-year career in Hollywood films.
For the first time since her passing in 2019, a property she owned is now for sale – her gorgeous six-bedroom, eight-bathroom home, which sits on 8.62 acres of property in Carmel, California. The home has a 7,000-square-foot main house, a guest cottage, plus two gatehouse apartments.
The family has listed the property with Doug and Lisa Steiny of Sothebyâs International Realty at $7.4 million.
