When Crystal Gayle was just a child, her older sister, Loretta Lynn was a country music star. Crystal was just nine years old when Loretta cut her first record, ” “I’m a Honky Tonk Girl” in 1960.
Crystal, as we all know, would later go on to follow in her famous sister’s footsteps, and has enjoyed a successful country music career of her own. The two singing sisters have collaborated many times over the years. Fans always get a kick out of watching them perform together.
As the years have passed, Loretta and Crystal have maintained their close relationship. When Loretta celebrated her 90th birthday on Thursday, Crystal was one of the many people to publicly wish her a happy birthday.
Several of Loretta’s famous friends filmed special video messages for her including Alan Jackson, Reba McEntire, Carly Pearce, and Carrie Underwood, Tim McGraw and Faith Hill, Ashley McBryde, and Dolly Parton.

The video also featured photos of Loretta throughout her legendary country music career, but Crystal shared a photo of her sister that was not included…and we’ve also never seen it before!
In the photo, Loretta is holding a guitar and looks incredibly young! Alongside it, Crystal wrote, “Happy Birthday Loretta Lynn! You are a great sister! Love you…This is one of my favorite pictures.”
